Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Designer to join our dynamic team.
What you will work on:
- Lead the mechanical design efforts focused on developing innovative primary coolant pumps for liquid lead.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to ensure the safe and efficient operation of advanced nuclear power plants.
- Enhance the design process by incorporating insights into pump operation, failures, and maintenance.
- Utilize simulations and calculations to guarantee pump systems meet performance, safety, and reliability standards.
- Integrate pump systems seamlessly into the overall reactor design in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Define testing and validation routines for pump components and systems.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in pump technology and apply best practices to design efforts.
- Contribute to technical documentation, reports, and presentations.
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, with a preference for a Master’s degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in designing and developing pumps, ideally from thermal power plants and chemical or petrochemical industries.
- Advantageous prior experience in pump operation and failure analysis.
- Strong knowledge of fluid mechanics, with experience in liquid metals considered a plus.
- Proficiency in engineering software and simulation tools relevant to pump design.
- Familiarity with codes, standards, and regulations applicable to pumps.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
- Analytical mindset, keen attention to detail, and a passion for innovative problem-solving.
- Fluent in both spoken and written English, with fluency in Swedish as a plus.
