Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Nuclear Fuel Process Engineer to join our dynamic team.

What you will work on:

  • Join a growing team tasked with manufacturing UN fuel in a newly established laboratory.
  • Qualify the fuel through irradiation and out-of-pile testing for use in a demonstration reactor in Sweden.
  • Design a UN powder production line capable of producing several kilograms of the product based on completed R&D efforts.
  • Define the materials, equipment, and specific design solutions required for constructing the UN powder production line.
  • Oversee the sourcing and quality assurance of all necessary goods in collaboration with procurement specialists.
  • Contribute to and supervise the commissioning of the UN powder production line.
  • Ensure effective, compliant, and seamless operations by interacting with the host facility and regulatory representatives.
  • Identify competency gaps and recruitment needs within the organization.
  • Collaborate with internal and external parties responsible for fuel pelletization, fuel rod, and fuel assembly manufacturing.
  • Utilize your experience in fuel qualification, fuel factory development and licensing, and demonstration reactor licensing processes.

What you bring:

  • A Master’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Possession of a B-category driver’s license.
  • No restrictions preventing you from working with nuclear materials in Sweden.
  • Several years of proven experience in developing manufacturing or processing lines, preferably for industries prioritizing material quality, such as nuclear, halogenide, ceramics, or pharmaceuticals.
  • Hands-on experience in commissioning or operating material manufacturing or processing lines.
  • Strong communication skills in both verbal and written English; knowledge of Swedish is a plus.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a creative mindset for developing innovative solutions.
  • A keen interest in personal growth and the potential to act as a formal or informal leader.
