Assignment Description:
We are looking for a Senior Materials Analysis Engineer to join our dynamic team.
What you will work on:
- Perform failure and root cause analysis on metallic components and materials from field returns and development projects
- Conduct microstructure, fracture surface and hardness analysis using laboratory instruments
- Operate and manage metallurgical lab equipment independently
- Prepare and document technical investigation reports in English
- Collaborate with engineering teams to identify material-related issues and propose corrective actions
- Contribute to development projects by providing material expertise and analytical support
- Handle lab-based assignments efficiently in a production-oriented environment
- Follow established safety and quality standards in laboratory operations
- Plan, execute and deliver assignments with minimal supervision
- Maintain structured documentation and ensure traceability of analysis results
What you bring:
- 3–5 years of experience in metallic material analysis, metallurgy or materials engineering
- Proven hands-on experience from laboratory work in a production or industrial setting
- Strong competence in metallographic preparation and microstructure evaluation
- Experience with hardness testing, fracture analysis and failure investigation techniques
- Familiarity with automotive components and industry standards
- Ability to operate metallurgical instruments such as microscopes, hardness testers, etc.
- Good understanding of materials behavior and manufacturing processes
- Experience with substances of concern or material environmental compliance (meritorious)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good self-organization and ability to lead and deliver own assignments
- Excellent communication skills and ability to write clear technical reports in English
- Ability and motivation to work 100% on-site in a laboratory environment
