Job Description
Assignment Description:
We are looking for a Senior Control System Performance Engineering Expert – FACTS to join our dynamic team.
What you will work on:
- Develop advanced control system solutions and project-specific functionalities for Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) applications.
- Lead efforts to ensure optimal control system performance throughout all project phases — from design and simulation to commissioning and handover.
- Conduct detailed PSCAD and RTDS simulation studies to validate dynamic system performance against grid code requirements.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Commissioning Tests, ensuring that control systems meet all performance and compliance standards.
- Collaborate across engineering, R&D, and project teams to drive continuous improvements in control strategies and system behavior.
- Provide technical leadership, training, and mentorship to colleagues, sharing expertise in control system performance and converter behavior.
- Support tenders, delivery projects, and R&D initiatives, contributing control performance expertise and verification strategies.
- Prepare and present comprehensive verification and performance reports for customers and stakeholders.
- Review and interpret customer specifications, actively engaging in technical discussions and meetings to align project deliverables.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and innovation within the organization, particularly in control system optimization for high-power converters.
What you bring:
- M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline with a strong foundation in control theory and power systems.
- 15+ years of experience in power systems and control system performance analysis, with direct experience in high-power electronic converters.
- Deep expertise in control theories and modeling techniques for power converter dynamics and system interaction.
- Proven proficiency in PSCAD, RTDS, and Hidraw or equivalent real-time simulation and development tools.
- Experience developing and verifying control functions within the MACH™ control system using Hidraw or C/C++.
- Strong analytical mindset with a focus on precision, performance optimization, and compliance with grid requirements.
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, multicultural project environment.
- Curiosity, adaptability, and a continuous learning mindset to stay ahead in control systems technology and power electronics innovation.
