Assignment Description:
We are looking for a Senior Android Software Engineer to join our dynamic team.
What you will work on:
- Design, develop, and enhance advanced Android applications and services in collaboration with global technology partners such as Google.
- Build new features and functionalities ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability across multiple Volvo brands.
- Take end-to-end ownership of the software development life cycle — from concept and design to deployment and production maintenance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams to define, design, and deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Implement robust testing strategies, including unit and integration testing, to ensure software quality and stability.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by staying updated on the latest Android technologies, frameworks, and tools.
- Support production operations and ensure successful delivery of applications with a focus on user experience and technical excellence.
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in software development with strong expertise in Java and Kotlin.
- Proven knowledge of Android architecture patterns and modern design principles.
- Hands-on experience with development tools such as Git, Jenkins, Jira, and Artifactory.
- Strong understanding of software quality assurance and testing techniques, including JUnit and Espresso.
- Experience in Radio and Media application development is a strong advantage.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly.
- A proactive, collaborative, and innovative mindset with a passion for new technologies.
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and support teammates in achieving shared goals.
