Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - 15345

Assignment Description:

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer for an urgent assignment with immediate start.
This role is 100% on-site in Linköping and focuses on mechanical design and development of turbine systems and related components. You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure designs meet performance, quality, and manufacturability requirements.

What you will work on:

Create detailed 3D models, CAD designs, and assembly drawings for turbine systems and mechanical components
Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure designs meet performance targets and functional requirements
Work closely with structural engineers to optimize mechanical strength, durability, and reliability
Prepare designs for prototyping, testing, and production
Support design reviews and update designs based on test results and feedback
Maintain accurate and up-to-date design documentation
Ensure designs are manufacturable, cost-efficient, and optimized for ease of assembly
Consider manufacturing constraints, materials, and tolerances in all design work

What you bring:

Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or a closely related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design with strong CAD skills
Hands-on experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Siemens NX, AutoCAD, or similar
Experience in product design; background in marine systems is considered a plus
Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles including stress analysis, thermal performance, and materials
Experience designing rotating mechanical systems, such as gearboxes, shafts, bearings, and related components
Strong attention to detail and ability to produce manufacturable, production-ready designs
Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and clearly communicate design solutions
Excellent collaboration and communication skills with fluency in spoken and written English
Strong motivation to learn and actively contribute to product development
