Assignment Overview
We are seeking a Backend Engineer

What You Will Work On

Execute the VCS infrastructure strategy serving 3,000+ engineers and hundreds of thousands of daily builds.
Support operational tasks to keep large-scale systems healthy, secure, and updated.
Develop backend systems that automate workflows and enhance software development efficiency.
Drive automation and continuous improvement across Version Control Systems within diverse technical stacks.
Collaborate with global infrastructure teams to define and implement best-in-class VCS infrastructure.
Maintain auxiliary services including team syncing between Octa and GitHub, automated code merging, and assigning code reviewers.

What You Bring

Extensive experience in Java backend development and Linux system fundamentals.
Deep understanding of networking, HTTP protocols, and cloud orchestration.
Cloud proficiency with Google Cloud (preferred) or AWS and Kubernetes experience.
Git/VCS expertise: GitHub administration/operations preferred; GitLab experience is a strong advantage.
Experience working with AI tooling and AI-driven developer productivity tools.
6+ years building and implementing large-scale systems in complex projects.
Strong communication skills, autonomy, and a focus on collaboration with global teams.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and robust delivery practices.
Bonus: Experience with data engineering or large-scale data processing.
