Assignment Overview
We are looking for a Principal Backend Java Software Engineer

What you will work on

Developing backend services and algorithms for vehicle optimization and energy prediction
Building scalable microservices running in AWS cloud environments
Designing high-performance systems that utilize vehicle and map data
Developing solutions to improve fuel efficiency and electric vehicle range prediction
Creating prototypes for future digital services and optimization solutions
Maintaining and evolving existing backend services throughout their lifecycle
Working in DevOps-driven agile teams responsible for both development and operations
Collaborating with product owners, architects, and business analysts to define system requirements
Implementing high-quality code and following modern engineering best practices
Ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance of backend services

What you bring

University degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
12+ years of experience in software engineering, primarily backend development
Strong expertise in Java (Java 21+) and Spring Boot
Experience designing and developing microservices architectures
Experience working with AWS cloud services
Strong knowledge of REST APIs and distributed systems
Experience with asynchronous programming and messaging systems (JMS)
Experience working with PostgreSQL databases and database versioning tools such as Liquibase
Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker
Strong familiarity with Linux environments and cloud-based infrastructure
Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments
Strong problem-solving skills and interest in writing efficient algorithms
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, product owners, and analysts
Fluent English communication skills (spoken and written)
Valid EU citizenship or Swedish work permit
