Assignment Description:
We are looking for a Senior Software Architect to join our dynamic team.
What you will work on:
- Define and architect the embedded software protocol stack for the GCI proprietary interface, ensuring robust and secure communication between sensors and external modules
- Implement USB protocol stack for basic connectivity and extend with higher-level communication protocols
- Design and document handshake algorithms for secure device authentication, encryption, and safe identification of approved sensors
- Develop solutions for sensor type identification, device authentication, and future sensor integration
- Ensure cybersecurity compliance with medical device standards such as IEC 81001-5-1
- Enable firmware and software upgrade capabilities for both GCI dongles and connected sensors
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align hardware, software, and system-level requirements for current and future devices
What you bring:
- Strong background in embedded software architecture and design, with a focus on communication protocols
- Hands-on experience with USB protocol stacks and integration in embedded systems
- Knowledge of standard communication protocols and ability to apply them in a medical device context
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and regulatory requirements for medical devices (IEC 81001-5-1 or similar)
- Experience with secure handshake mechanisms, encryption methods, and device authentication
- Ability to design future-proof solutions prepared for scaling and integration with new sensor technologies
- Experience with software and firmware update mechanisms in embedded environments
- Excellent problem-solving skills, structured approach, and ability to collaborate across engineering disciplines
