Assignment Description:
We are looking for a Senior GCP Data Engineer to join our dynamic team.
What you will work on:
- Contribute to one of the largest data transformation journeys, building data products within the Data Mesh concept based on defined vision and requirements
- Take end-to-end responsibility for building, optimizing, and supporting existing and new data products
- Apply DevOps principles to manage CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, and cloud infrastructure on GCP
- Ensure data products function as independent deployable units and comply with standards for security, scalability, observability, and performance
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers and stakeholders to refine the vision for existing data products and identify opportunities for new products
- Work with cross-functional product teams to implement Data Mesh concepts and drive continuous improvement while reducing technical debt
- Maintain expertise in the latest cloud, analytics, and data technologies
What you bring:
- At least 4+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer on GCP, modern cloud data platforms, or advanced analytics environments
- Strong experience with GCP tools such as BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, and related cloud infrastructure
- Proficiency in data formats like Parquet and Avro
- Solid experience with SQL or other data query languages
- Programming experience in one or more languages such as Python, Java, or Scala
- Good understanding of different data modeling techniques and trade-offs
- Knowledge of both NoSQL and RDBMS databases
- Passion for data, technology, and working collaboratively with people
Qualifications:
- Proven track record of designing, building, and maintaining cloud-based data products
- Hands-on experience in implementing DevOps practices for data pipelines and cloud environments
- Ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional teams, contributing as an individual expert in data engineering
