Assignment Description:
We are looking for a Senior R&D Engineer – HVDC Valve Development to join our dynamic team.
What you will work on:
- Lead the electrical design of HVDC converter valves, including integration of high-power capacitor units.
- Perform design calculations, circuit simulations, and stress analysis for electrical components.
- Specify, select, and qualify high-voltage capacitors for power electronics applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of capacitor units into valve systems.
- Align strategic R&D initiatives with internal stakeholders and capacitor suppliers.
- Prepare and review technical requirements, specifications, test plans, and validation reports.
- Plan and participate in high-voltage validation, reliability testing, and R&D experiments.
- Document R&D results and present findings to internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to design reviews and digital initiatives for continuous improvement.
What you bring:
- PhD in Power Engineering or Electrical Engineering, or relevant master’s degree with industrial experience.
- Proven expertise in capacitor technologies for HVDC and high-voltage applications.
- Solid understanding of power electronic converter technologies.
- Experience with dielectric materials and passive components in high-voltage environments.
- Background in reliability engineering is desirable.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience leading R&D projects is a strong advantage.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); Swedish is not required.
