Assignment Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Build Engineer
What You Will Work On
- Design and define the architecture of a scalable Bazel-based build system
- Collaborate with engineering teams to establish long-term build strategies
- Develop and maintain build infrastructure supporting multiple platforms
- Drive adoption of Bazel across development teams
- Conduct technical training sessions and workshops on:
- Bazel
- BuildBuddy
- Build system best practices
- Improve developer experience through workflow optimization and tooling improvements
- Evaluate and enhance:
- Build performance
- Developer productivity
- IDE integrations
- Automation processes
- Identify and address technical debt within build environments
- Troubleshoot and resolve build-related challenges
- Create technical documentation, standards, and implementation guidelines
- Collaborate with game production and platform engineering teams
- Support migration initiatives toward modern build systems
- Contribute to sustainable and maintainable engineering practices
What You Bring
- Proven experience implementing and maintaining Bazel build systems
- Experience working with projects targeting at least two of the following platforms:
- Windows
- Linux
- macOS
- iOS
- Android
- Strong experience writing Bazel definitions using:
- Experience working with C/C++ projects from either:
- Build engineering perspective
- Software development perspective
- Expertise in designing and maintaining build systems for large-scale, long-term projects
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles and clean code practices
- Experience identifying and mitigating:
- Technical debt
- Build bottlenecks
- Architectural issues
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to train and mentor engineers on build technologies
- Strong documentation and technical writing skills
- Experience collaborating within cross-functional engineering teams
