Assignment Description
We are looking for an experienced Integration Specialist / Platform Engineer
What You Will Work On
- Design, deploy, and maintain multi-cluster, multi-region Apache Kafka platforms running on Kubernetes
- Administer and optimize enterprise HiveMQ MQTT broker environments
- Manage Kafka clusters using Strimzi Operator or similar technologies
- Plan and execute platform upgrades for Kafka, Strimzi, and HiveMQ with minimal or zero downtime
- Develop and maintain custom Kafka Source and Sink Connectors
- Design scalable messaging infrastructure supporting high-volume data streaming
- Manage Kafka topics, partitions, retention policies, compaction, and cluster resource allocation
- Design high-availability and disaster recovery solutions, including cross-region replication and automated failover
- Implement schema governance using Avro, Protobuf, JSON Schema, and Schema Registry
- Design secure messaging architectures using Kafka ACLs, SASL, OAuth/OIDC, RBAC, mTLS, and SSL
- Build and maintain observability solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, and Fluent Bit
- Create monitoring dashboards, alerts, and health metrics for messaging platforms
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for production incidents and implement preventive improvements
- Provide Tier 3 support for complex integration and messaging platform issues
- Advise development teams on Kafka Producer and Consumer best practices
- Build reusable CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and ArgoCD
- Automate platform provisioning and deployments using Infrastructure as Code
- Package and manage infrastructure using Helm and OCI artifacts
- Implement automated scaling using KEDA and Kubernetes
- Develop developer self-service capabilities for provisioning topics, schemas, and credentials
- Manage incidents, problems, and platform changes
- Collaborate closely with Security, Architecture, Infrastructure, and Development teams
- Drive platform stability, scalability, performance, security, and cost optimization
What You Bring
- Proven experience as an Integration Specialist, Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Messaging Platform Engineer
- 4–6 years of experience managing Apache Kafka platforms in enterprise environments
- Strong experience with Kafka, Strimzi Operator, Kafka Connect, and KRaft architecture
- 4–6 years of experience developing applications using Java and Spring Boot
- Strong experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Kubernetes administration
- Experience with PostgreSQL
- Strong Linux administration skills, including Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL)
- Experience with GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, and CI/CD automation
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or equivalent tools
- Experience with Helm package management
- Experience implementing observability using Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, Fluent Bit, or OpenTelemetry
- Strong understanding of distributed messaging systems, event streaming, and enterprise integration
- Experience implementing security frameworks including OAuth/OIDC, RBAC, SASL, SSL/TLS, and mTLS
- Strong troubleshooting, Root Cause Analysis, and operational support skills
- Experience working in DevOps environments with end-to-end platform ownership
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
