Assignment Description:
We are looking for a Senior AC Protection and Control Lead Engineer to join our dynamic team.
What you will work on:
- Take on the role of AC Protection and Control Lead Engineer for the AC part of HVDC stations
- Translate customer specifications and protection schemes into conceptual designs and sub-supplier requirements
- Evaluate sub-supplier quotes and oversee design and manufacturing processes
- Lead design teams and collaborate with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders
- Review detailed protection panel designs and ensure interface compatibility
- Align functional requirements, panel design, relay configuration, and settings prior to FAT
- Review supplier test programs and supervise Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
- Provide remote support during installation and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
- Report to the Electrical Design, AC Protection and Control team manager within the HVDC automation group
What you bring:
- 10+ years of experience in protection and control systems for MV/HV AC substations
- Strong understanding of relay protection schemes, including protection, control, measurement, and supervision functionalities
- Familiarity with protective relays from various manufacturers such as ABB, Siemens, and GE
- Experience in protection and control panel design and application of best practices
- Knowledge of power system studies, grid codes, and protection coordination
- Experience in reading technical specifications and managing sub-suppliers
- Familiarity with the UK market and customers such as NG and SSE is meritorious
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Proficiency in English
- Ability to work in a hybrid setup, preferably from Ludvika, Västerås, or Gothenburg
