Assignment Description:
We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join our dynamic team.
What you will work on:
- Develop and maintain backend services in Java that support internal editorial workflows used daily by content and production teams.
- Build and enhance data pipelines, GraphQL interfaces and PostgreSQL-based systems.
- Contribute to backend infrastructure improvements and ensure systems are scalable, reliable and maintainable.
- Collaborate closely with backend and frontend (TypeScript) teams to deliver end-to-end functionality.
- Work across multiple systems, ensuring smooth integrations and alignment with business needs.
- Follow features from design to deployment, benefiting from rapid feedback loops from internal users.
- Support the development of platforms that drive high-volume interactions and curated content experiences.
What you bring:
- Extensive experience with Java and modern backend system architecture.
- Strong skills working with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
- Comfortable collaborating across backend and frontend teams; some experience with TypeScript is a plus.
- Knowledge of GraphQL is highly valuable.
- Experience with publishing platforms, CMS, or internal-facing tools is a strong advantage.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with a strong sense of shared ownership.
- Ability to articulate opinions clearly while remaining open to new ideas and perspectives.
- Skilled at building alignment and bringing teams together around a common technical direction
- Fluent in English and Swedish.
