Assignment Description:
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic team.
What You Will Work On:
- Take end-to-end responsibility for building, optimizing, and supporting both existing and new data products, aligning with the defined target vision.
- Champion a DevOps mindset and principles, managing CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, and cloud infrastructure, with a focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Ensure that data products operate as independent deployment units, adhering to standards for security, scalability, observability, and performance.
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners and other stakeholders to define the vision for data products and identify new opportunities to meet customer needs.
- Work with product teams across the organization on data mesh concepts and related initiatives.
- Evaluate and implement continuous improvements, driving down technical debt within the teams.
- Maintain expertise in the latest data, analytics, and cloud technologies to ensure our solutions remain cutting-edge.
What You Bring:
- 4+ years of experience in roles such as Data Engineer on GCP or modern cloud data platforms, or as a Software Engineer with cloud technologies and infrastructure.
- Expertise in GCP tools such as Dataflow, Dataproc, and BigQuery.
- Proficiency in working with various data formats, including Parquet and Avro.
- Strong skills in data query languages like SQL or similar.
- Experience in data-centric programming using one or more languages (Python, Java, Scala).
- Good understanding of different data modeling techniques and their trade-offs.
- Knowledge of NoSQL and RDBMS databases.
- A collaborative, co-creative mindset with excellent communication skills.
- Motivation to work independently, with the ability to make decisions autonomously.
- Experience working with data visualization tools.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
Advantageous Qualifications:
- Experience with data processing frameworks such as Beam, Spark, Hive, or Flink.
- Business understanding of the retail industry.
