Assignment Description:
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic team.
What you will work on:
- Take end-to-end responsibility for building, optimizing, and supporting both existing and new data products aligned with the target vision
- Apply DevOps principles to manage CI/CD pipelines, Terraform scripts, and cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Ensure data products are independently deployable and meet non-functional standards for security, scalability, observability, and performance
- Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to define and deliver solutions that support customer needs
- Work with cross-functional product teams to implement and support data mesh concepts
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, reduce technical debt, and maintain high-quality solutions
- Stay up-to-date with latest data, analytics, and cloud technologies
What you bring:
- Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Strong proficiency with GCP tools such as Dataflow and BigQuery
- Experience with Data Build Tool (DBT) and different data formats like Avro and Parquet
- Strong SQL or equivalent data query skills
- Experience with data-centric programming using Python, Java, or Scala
- Solid understanding of data modeling techniques and trade-offs
- Familiarity with NoSQL and RDBMS databases
- Collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal)
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with data visualization tools
- Advantageous: business understanding of the retail industry
