Assignment Description:

We are looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our dynamic team.

What you will work on:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable machine learning pipelines using Vertex AI Pipelines and Kubeflow.
• Build and optimize data models and transformations using BigQuery, SQL, and DBT.
• Implement orchestration workflows with Cloud Composer and Airflow.
• Ensure system security and compliance through proper use of IAM, service accounts, and Data Catalog.
• Apply Infrastructure as Code practices to enable reliable and repeatable deployments.
• Contribute to system design, data modeling, and CI/CD pipelines following industry best practices.
• Collaborate closely with product owners, stakeholders, and technical peers to deliver high-quality, customer-facing recommendation systems.

What you bring:

• Proven expertise with Google Cloud Platform, including Vertex AI Pipelines/Kubeflow, BigQuery & SQL, Cloud Composer/Airflow, IAM & service accounts, and Data Catalog.
• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code tools and practices.
• Advanced Python development skills, including OOP, unit/e2e testing, and use of best practices and tooling (flake8, mypy, black, pre-commit, SonarQube).
• Hands-on experience with Git (PR workflows, merge conflict resolution, CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions).
• Solid understanding of Docker, Unix, and Shell scripting, including Docker setup and usage.
• Deep knowledge of DBT, ideally in a GCP environment.
• Familiarity with Dataflow and Kubernetes is a plus.
• Strong foundation in data modeling and system design.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a passion for code quality, code reviews, and continuous improvement.
