Assignment Description:

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team.

What you will work on:

• Integrate components designed in partner facilities into the Master CAD model
• Participate in system assembly, machine installation, and related operations in laboratories and surface assembly halls
• Generate, maintain, and update 2D drawings in CATIA and archive them in the in-house CAD management tool
• Create 2D designs from 3D input and 3D models from 2D input, as well as from requirements specifications
• Produce and update conceptual, draft, detailed, and manufacturing 2D drawings and 3D models in CATIA V6
• Generate installation drawings and provide on-site installation coordination and documentation
• Monitor manufacturing processes, follow up on component production, and conduct engineering quality and acceptance inspections
• Produce, review, and maintain technical documentation in compliance with project and quality standards
• Review 2D drawings according to GPS tolerancing, ISO, and other relevant mechanical standardization norms and codes
• Act as reviewer for mechanical engineering drawings and engineering packages
• Document, present, and communicate work clearly to stakeholders while adapting to evolving project needs

What you bring:

• Higher technical or university degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in CAD mechanical design engineering
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with CATIA design
• Strong knowledge of design maturity, versioning, and release processes
• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and application in production drawings
• Familiarity with maintenance and installation drawings in industrial environments
• Experience with technical documentation and configuration management
• Advantageous experience in accelerator and detector environments or in technologies such as radiation, vacuum, pressure, gas flow, magnetic fields, RF, high temperature, cryogenics, or electronics
• Mechanical design supervision experience and familiarity with acceptance testing are considered assets
• Strong initiative, self-motivation, and ability to work autonomously while following technical directions
• Flexibility to adapt to changing project needs and ability to produce pragmatic, workable solutions
• Structured, results-oriented mindset with strong planning, prioritization, and organizational skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; knowledge of other European languages is an advantage
