Job Description
Assignment Description:
We are looking for a Senior Project Cost Controller to join our dynamic team.
What you will work on:
- Entering approved project budget data into the accounting system, including cost and hour breakdowns for relevant units and disciplines.
- Supporting the Project Manager in preparing the Project Management Plan with input on cost control procedures and processes.
- Monitoring and analyzing cost and hour consumption against the allocated budget and reporting deviations.
- Regularly updating forecasts for “cost-to-complete” and assessing impacts on project profitability.
- Managing and controlling financial engagements, cash flow, invoices, and payments.
- Assisting in controlling risk provisions within the cost forecast based on risk assessments.
- Ensuring bonds and insurances are in place, in collaboration with the Contract Manager, and overseeing timely invoice preparation and approvals.
- Communicating financial status and forecasts to stakeholders, highlighting deviations and their impacts.
- Analyzing changes to the project scope for budget and profitability implications.
- Negotiating unsettled invoice items with the client and resolving financial discrepancies.
- Supporting the project team with quality checks and interdisciplinary controls.
- Reporting key financial metrics and insights to the Project Economy group manager.
- Contributing to the monthly project report compilation and overall financial reporting.
What you bring:
- Extensive experience in cost control, financial management, or a similar role in project-based environments.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to monitor, forecast, and manage complex project budgets.
- Proficiency in project accounting systems and financial reporting tools.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a collaborative approach to working with clients and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to identify and address deviations in project budgets and profitability.
- Experience with risk management and financial provisions in project contexts.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and quality in financial reporting.
- A proactive attitude toward problem-solving and process improvements.
- Familiarity with contractual and internal requirements for project cost control and invoicing.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; advanced certifications in cost control or project management are a plus.
