Assignment Description:
We are looking for a Senior Project Engineering Manager to join our dynamic team.
What You Will Work On:
- Lead and oversee engineering teams for one or more projects within the Client program, ensuring effective design and construction of facilities.
- Develop and manage the engineering scope, budget, and schedule for assigned projects.
- Create and utilize engineering performance monitoring tools, such as Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).
- Identify project resource needs and collaborate with Discipline Managers to ensure proper staffing.
- Coordinate with other departments (Construction, Procurement, Project Controls, Operations) to align designs with stakeholder requirements.
- Manage design engineering discipline interfaces to ensure cohesive and complete design.
- Develop scope and deliverables lists for engineering subcontracts.
- Ensure compliance with Client work processes and procedures for all project work.
- Collaborate with the Engineering Director and Discipline Managers to conduct audits of critical work, ensuring quality and completeness while avoiding overdesign.
- Facilitate safety and constructability reviews, incorporating agreed actions into the design.
- Provide monthly engineering progress and performance reports to the Engineering Director.
- Participate in weekly all-hands engineering meetings and report to the Project Manager as directed.
What You Bring:
- An engineering degree from a recognized university.
- At least 10 years of experience in designing heavy industrial facilities.
- Proven experience managing multi-discipline engineering teams and subcontractors.
- Strong ability to delegate tasks effectively.
- Experience in forming and managing subcontracts.
- Proficiency in using Earned Value Management tools or similar to monitor engineering performance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong active listening and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to analyze problems quickly and determine effective solutions.
