  • Reconcile cost changes and assist contractors in ensuring the accuracy of their data submissions.
  • Communicate regularly with contractors and project managers to gather updates for cost estimate reviews and status reports.
  • Prepare comprehensive written comments and executive summaries on contractor submissions for project stakeholders.
  • Coordinate cost-related discussions and validation processes with suppliers, contractors, and their sub-contractors to ensure accuracy and transparency.
  • Proactively manage engineering priorities based on cost impacts and project requirements.
  • Conduct cost checks, audits, and valuations, ensuring a robust and efficient cost validation process is in place.
  • Engage in post-contract cost variance analysis and support the change control processes to maintain project integrity.
  • Manage cost impacts, contingency plans, and commitment tracking logs, maintaining clear and accurate records.
  • Prepare funding data presentations and lead value engineering (VE) sessions with key stakeholders.
  • Oversee contract administration, including retention, terms and conditions, insurance, contingency, and incentives.
  • Attend risk meetings and maintain an updated risk log to proactively address potential project risks.

What you bring:

  • Solid understanding of cost estimation, cost planning, and cost validation processes, with the ability to produce detailed financial reports and cost plans.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills, with experience in reviewing and leading discussions on contractor and subcontractor pricing.
  • Ability to work proactively with minimal supervision, resolve scheduling and financial issues, and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with contractors, project managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with contract administration processes, including insurance, contingency management, and incentives.
  • Experience in maintaining cost benchmarking databases and preparing cost impact analyses and funding presentations.
  • Competency in managing risk and maintaining comprehensive risk logs for project planning and execution.
