Assignment Description:

We are looking for a Senior R&D Engineer – HVDC Valve Development to join our dynamic team.

What you will work on:

• Lead the electrical design of HVDC converter valves, including integration of high-power capacitor units.
• Perform design calculations, circuit simulations, and stress analysis for electrical components.
• Specify, select, and qualify high-voltage capacitors for power electronics applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of capacitor units into valve systems.
• Align strategic R&D initiatives with internal stakeholders and capacitor suppliers.
• Prepare and review technical requirements, specifications, test plans, and validation reports.
• Plan and participate in high-voltage validation, reliability testing, and R&D experiments.
• Document R&D results and present findings to internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to design reviews and digital initiatives for continuous improvement.

What you bring:

• PhD in Power Engineering or Electrical Engineering, or relevant master’s degree with industrial experience.
• Proven expertise in capacitor technologies for HVDC and high-voltage applications.
• Solid understanding of power electronic converter technologies.
• Experience with dielectric materials and passive components in high-voltage environments.
• Background in reliability engineering is desirable.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience leading R&D projects is a strong advantage.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken); Swedish is not required.
