Assignment Description:
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic team.
What you will work on:
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of the Federated GraphQL platform and its associated infrastructure.
- Manage a monorepo for subgraphs, ensuring high-quality schema design, modularity, and scalability.
- Act as the steward of the federated data schema, ensuring schema consistency and managing queries from consuming teams.
- Identify and implement opportunities for platform improvement, focusing on both code quality and practical, timely solutions to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Collaborate closely with back-end and front-end teams to deliver new features, enhancements, and ensure seamless integration of system components.
- Monitor system performance through metrics, logs, and tracing, proactively optimizing the platform and resolving issues.
- Advocate and enforce best practices in software engineering, including code reviews, testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
What you bring:
- Proven autonomy and initiative: Ability to take ownership of your work, proactively identify areas for improvement, and drive solutions independently.
- Effective communication skills: Strong verbal and written communication, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Technical expertise: Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js with solid experience in modern software development practices. Strong understanding of deployment infrastructure.
- Experience with federated GraphQL architectures: Expertise in building scalable applications on GraphQL, with a focus on performance optimization.
- Additional technical skills: Experience with Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools such as metrics, logging, and tracing.
- Desirable skills: Familiarity with Rust and experience with federated GraphQL systems is a plus.
- Balanced approach to coding: Ability to write clean, maintainable code while understanding when pragmatism is necessary to meet business objectives.
