Assignment Description:

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer -API Development to join our dynamic team.

What you will work on:

• Design, implement, and manage APIs using Azure API Management, including policies, transformations, versioning, and security
• Develop and document APIs following OpenAPI Specification and RESTful best practices, including resource modeling, error handling, and pagination
• Work with GraphQL APIs and contribute to designing flexible, efficient query solutions
• Use Postman for API development, collection creation, test automation, and mocking to support contract-first development
• Perform unit testing and integration testing of APIs to ensure quality and reliability
• Integrate Apache Kafka into microservices and APIs, managing topics, producers, consumers, and event schema design
• Support event-driven architecture and real-time data pipelines to enable scalable solutions
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or equivalent tools to automate API deployment across APIM, Function Apps, Containers, or Kubernetes
• Contribute to security by applying OAuth2.0, OpenID Connect, and JWT, and enforce API Gateway security policies such as rate limiting, throttling, and IP restrictions
• Monitor and optimize performance through Splunk and APIM analytics, ensuring system reliability and observability
• Manage API routing, caching, and DDoS protection using Cloudflare, and ensure correct setup of DNS, SSL/TLS, and traffic management
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver high-quality, reusable, and well-documented APIs
• Optionally contribute to semantic and knowledge graph integration, using RDF, SPARQL, and OWL where relevant

What you bring:

• Strong expertise in Azure API Management, including policies, transformations, security, and versioning
• Proficiency in RESTful API design and documentation, with knowledge of GraphQL
• Experience using Postman for development, testing, and API mocking, with a contract-first approach
• Hands-on experience with unit testing and integration testing of APIs
• Solid knowledge of Apache Kafka, event-driven architecture, and streaming API integration
• Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines, ideally GitHub Actions, with experience automating deployments for APIM, Function Apps, Containers, or Kubernetes
• Understanding of OAuth2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, and API Gateway security practices
• Familiarity with performance monitoring and logging using Splunk or APIM analytics
• Knowledge of Cloudflare, DNS, SSL/TLS, and API traffic management
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills with a focus on clean, reusable, and well-documented code
• Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams
• Experience mentoring junior developers is an advantage
• Familiarity with semantic data modeling, RDF, SPARQL, OWL, and APIs for knowledge graphs is a plus
