We are looking for a Senior Technical / Engineering Manager to join our dynamic team.
What you will work on:
Lead and manage all engineering activities during the Basic Engineering phase of an underground and surface mining project, with a focus on materials handling systems
Develop and communicate the Engineering Manual in line with the overall Project Management Plan
Conduct the Engineering Kick-off with discipline leads, ensuring clear alignment on scope, budget, and schedule
Define and enforce a unified design philosophy together with the client and discipline leads, ensuring compliance with contracts, standards, and local regulations
Plan, monitor, and control the detailed engineering schedule, including resources and activity sequencing
Ensure that all engineering deliverables meet contractual, technical, legal, and quality requirements
Coordinate reviews, internal checks, and technical compliance assessments across disciplines
Facilitate and document regular internal and external meetings, ensuring proper follow-up on actions
Report and manage engineering changes, supporting the Project Manager in preparing and executing Change Orders
Monitor engineering schedule and cost performance, applying corrective measures when necessary
Contribute to monthly progress reports, project closure documentation, and lessons learned
What you bring:
15+ years of experience in underground and surface mining projects, with deep expertise in materials handling systems
Proven leadership in guiding multidisciplinary engineering teams within large, complex projects
Registered Professional Engineer with a strong track record in mining-related project delivery
Solid knowledge of EU engineering legislation, environmental standards, health, and safety regulations
Demonstrated ability to apply industry best practices, manage Engineering Risk Registers, and lead HAZOP sessions
Skilled in implementing Reliability Engineering Principles to ensure system efficiency and project resilience
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to support technical discussions and negotiations with clients, partners, and suppliers
Structured and proactive approach to Engineering Management, including secure archiving of all documentation and process adherence
Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with experience in evaluating team performance and driving professional development
