Assignment Description:
We are looking for a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to join our dynamic team.
What you will work on:
- Building and evolving Backstage-based Internal Developer Platform by developing custom plugins, templates, catalogue configurations, and UI extensions
- Integrating golden-path workflows for CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, security patterns, and standardized service creation
- Enhancing developer experience through AI by implementing MCP-compatible tools, LLM-based assistants, contextual help, code generation, documentation summarization, onboarding automation, and infrastructure insights
- Designing and maintaining AI toolchains including embeddings, vector stores, RAG pipelines, and internal knowledge search solutions
- Delivering full-stack and platform engineering solutions using TypeScript, Node.js, Python, React, and Backstage’s framework
- Implementing integrations with cloud platforms, identity providers, secrets management, Git repositories, artifact stores, deployment systems, and internal services
- Automating lifecycle workflows such as service scaffolding, provisioning, dependency updates, and platform standardization
- Strengthening DevSecOps practices with secure-by-default templates, integrated security automation, policy-as-code, SBOM generation, and compliance guardrails
- Collaborating with platform engineering, cloud, security, and Golden Path teams to ensure a unified and high-quality developer experience
- Acting as a subject matter expert for Backstage, internal developer experience, and AI-driven engineering workflows, promoting adoption through demos, documentation, and training
What you bring:
- Solid Backstage experience including developing custom plugins, templates, and enterprise-level developer portal components
- Strong full-stack development skills with TypeScript, Node.js, React, and REST/GraphQL APIs, with bonus experience in Python, Go, or cloud-native backend development
- Deep understanding of DevSecOps practices including CI/CD automation, GitOps patterns, artifact management, and standardized service delivery
- Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, or AKS, and knowledge of Azure or similar cloud environments
- Strong foundations in Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible, or other infrastructure-as-code tooling and scripting
- Familiarity or hands-on experience with MCP integrations, LLM-based tooling, vector databases, embeddings, RAG pipelines, AI-driven documentation systems, and platform intelligence
- Understanding of identity/SSO, RBAC, secrets management, compliance, and software supply chain security
- Ability to embed policies, guardrails, and security automation directly into developer workflows
- Strong empathy for developers, a passion for improving engineering flow, and the ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- A collaborative, curious, and improvement-driven mindset with a focus on simplification, automation, and delivering high-value platform capabilities
