Assignment Description
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer
What You Will Work On
- Lead the end-to-end redesign and productization of ITFM data logic
- Reverse engineer and extract business rules from existing dbt models
- Validate and refine logic together with business stakeholders
- Define and implement a structured information model (sources → concepts → dimensions/facts → reporting layer)
- Design and build star schema data models (fact tables, conformed dimensions, SCD where required)
- Refactor dbt projects into structured layers (staging, intermediate, marts) with improved standards
- Optimize BigQuery performance and cost (partitioning, clustering, incremental processing)
- Support ongoing development of new datasets, metrics, and integrations
- Ensure high code quality through testing, CI practices, code reviews, and release management
- Produce clear and structured documentation (dbt docs, lineage, data contracts, runbooks)
- Leverage AI tools to support documentation, testing, and migration activities
What You Bring
- Strong expertise in SQL and advanced data modeling (star schema, fact/dimension modeling)
- Extensive hands-on experience with dbt (macros, testing, incremental models, documentation)
- Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform, especially BigQuery (performance tuning and cost optimization)
- Domain knowledge in FinOps or ITFM (e.g., cost allocation, chargeback models)
- Ability to work in environments with limited documentation and drive requirement clarification
- Strong experience in technical documentation and data governance
- Proven ability to lead refactoring and modernization initiatives
- Experience mentoring or supporting other engineers
- Familiarity with applying AI tools in development workflows
