Assignment Description
We are looking for an Electrical Engineer / Battery Specialist
What You Will Work On
- Develop and validate SOH and RUL models for used BEVs
- Analyze battery degradation using operational vehicle data
- Compare on-board battery estimates with off-board model results
- Investigate and explain deviations in battery health calculations
- Assess aging drivers such as:
- Temperature
- State of Charge (SOC)
- Depth of discharge
- Charging behavior
- C-rate and load profiles
- Route and usage patterns
- Define confidence levels and applicability criteria for battery lifetime estimates
- Translate technical battery insights into business recommendations for:
- Used vehicle sales
- Leasing strategies
- Warranty risk
- Residual value assessments
- Second-life planning
What You Bring
- Relevant technical education in:
- Battery Technology
- Electrochemistry
- Electrical Engineering
- Materials Science
- or similar field
- Strong expertise in Li-ion battery technology and degradation mechanisms
- Experience with battery lifetime assessment including:
- Calendar aging
- Cycle aging
- Real-world usage effects
- Strong understanding of:
- State of Health (SOH)
- Remaining Useful Life (RUL)
- Capacity fade
- Resistance increase
- Performance degradation
- Experience interpreting battery data from vehicles, BMS systems, diagnostics, or testing
- Ability to critically assess model outputs and evaluate technical/business relevance
- Experience collaborating with engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Ability to explain complex degradation concepts clearly and pragmatically
