Assignment Description
We are currently looking for a senior Hardware Functional Safety Engineer
What You Will Work On
- Drive and maintain hardware functional safety processes throughout the product lifecycle
- Ensure compliance with automotive safety standards and development frameworks
- Manage safety-related requirements, documentation, and engineering artifacts
- Lead safety reviews, validation reviews, and compliance assessments
- Coordinate safety activities across hardware, system, and quality teams
- Act as the primary interface towards suppliers regarding safety compliance and deliverables
- Support audits, assessments, and governance activities
- Improve traceability across requirements, design, implementation, and verification activities
- Drive adoption of structured engineering processes and best practices
- Establish and maintain artifact management, change control, and configuration management processes
- Support lifecycle management of hardware development deliverables
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within engineering and supplier collaboration
- Promote quality, consistency, and efficiency throughout the hardware development organization
- Provide guidance and support regarding safety requirements and compliance activities
What You Bring
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Embedded Systems, or a related field
- Several years of experience in automotive hardware development
- Strong understanding of hardware development lifecycles and engineering processes
- Hands-on experience working with functional safety according to ISO 26262
- Experience managing safety requirements and safety documentation
- Experience performing safety reviews, assessments, and compliance activities
- Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders across complex organizations
- Experience collaborating with external suppliers and development partners
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Structured, analytical, and methodical approach to engineering work
- Ability to drive improvements and establish effective working practices
- Experience working in safety-critical product development environments
