Assignment Description:
We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Designer-Plastic Design to join our dynamic team.
What you will work on:
- Collaborating with a cross-functional team to deliver an entirely new hygiene chair for elderly care
- Focus on detailed design of large and complex injection-molded plastic components
- Ensuring high design, robustness, and cost-efficiency while maintaining low manufacturing costs
- Engaging in close collaboration with suppliers and various teams across a global environment
- Creating detailed drawings, including tolerance settings for plastic components with surface finish requirements
- Performing mechanical analysis and simulations to understand plastic component behavior under different loads and environmental conditions
- Working closely with external suppliers to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability
What you bring:
- Extensive experience with CAD, particularly surface modeling in SolidWorks
- Proven expertise in creating detailed drawings and tolerance settings for plastic components, including large components with specific surface finish and design requirements
- Strong knowledge of injection molding processes and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles
- In-depth understanding of how plastic components behave under various loads and environmental conditions
- Hands-on experience with mechanical analysis and simulations
- Excellent collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams and with external suppliers
- Self-driven, with the ability to efficiently plan and manage individual work in a structured manner
- Experience working on products designed for a specific end-user, with a strong understanding and interest in the end-user’s needs and experiences
- A communicative, proactive, and results-driven individual who enjoys driving activities to completion
- A hands-on approach with a focus on prototype building and an iterative development process
