Role Summary
An experienced AI Engineer / Agentic AI Specialist is sought for an advanced development initiative focused on collaborative AI agent systems. The client is at the forefront of AI-driven software development and already uses AI agents as an integrated part of its engineering workflows.
The assignment will explore and build the next generation of agent-based development: a cohesive ecosystem in which multiple specialised AI agents can collaborate, communicate and operate as components of a larger system. The objective is not simply to deploy multiple agents against a shared codebase, but to create a shared collaborative agent environment where agents understand the work being performed by other agents and developers, exchange relevant context, identify dependencies, support one another and collectively advance software delivery.
In this environment, developers work alongside their own AI agents while receiving recommendations, contextual insights, detected dependencies and suggested next steps informed by the activities of other agents. The long-term vision is for agents to function as a connected collaborative system rather than isolated tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop collaborative, multi-agent AI systems for software engineering workflows.
- Define mechanisms enabling specialised AI agents to communicate, coordinate activities and share relevant contextual information.
- Build or integrate agent-based workflows that support developers throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Develop approaches for agent awareness of developer activities, parallel agent work and dependencies across a shared codebase.
- Enable agents to generate relevant recommendations, contextual input and suggestions for subsequent development tasks.
- Contribute practical experience from comparable multi-agent system design, implementation or integration initiatives.
- Help shape the architecture and technical direction for a scalable, cohesive collaborative agent ecosystem.
Technical Stack & Requirements
- Strong experience designing, building or integrating AI Agents and multi-agent solutions.
- Experience with Multi-Agent Systems, including collaboration, coordination and communication between specialised agents.
- Experience applying Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) in practical engineering environments.
- Ability to design agent-based workflows that retain, retrieve and distribute relevant development context.
- Experience integrating AI-driven capabilities into software development processes and engineering toolchains.
- Understanding of software architecture considerations for interconnected, context-aware agent ecosystems.
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal consultant is a highly experienced AI Engineer or AI Specialist with proven hands-on experience solving similar challenges. You should have previously designed, built or integrated multiple AI agents into a coherent, collaborative system. Experience working with AI-driven software development environments, agent-based workflows and advanced engineering initiatives is essential.
