Business Architect

Role Summary

An experienced Business Architect is required to support a large-scale global ERP transformation focused on the Order-to-Cash (O2C) process. The assignment involves safeguarding the end-to-end O2C process, particularly external sales, and ensuring that business objectives, commercial target architecture, and scalable ERP design decisions remain aligned.

The role operates within a complex global environment and collaborates closely with programme stakeholders, Business Process Owners, process streams, and a service integrator. The consultant will drive end-to-end consistency across O2C and adjacent processes, including Finance, Procurement, and Plan & Fulfill.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent, govern, and safeguard the end-to-end Order-to-Cash process, with particular focus on external sales.
• Ensure alignment between O2C, Finance, Procurement, and Plan & Fulfill processes across the ERP landscape.
• Collaborate with programme stakeholders and the service integrator to support seamless process integration across multiple business areas.
• Support Business Process Owners and key stakeholders in establishing process documentation, governance structures, and global process templates.
• Ensure that business objectives and target architecture principles are reflected in ERP design decisions.
• Promote scalable, consistent, and industry-aligned process design and ways of working.
• Identify, communicate, and escalate business impacts arising when existing processes are aligned with standardized global processes.
• Facilitate alignment between business objectives, architectural principles, and practical delivery requirements in a cross-functional environment.

Technical Stack & Requirements

• Strong hands-on Business Architecture experience in complex, global transformation programmes.
• Solid competence in SAP S/4HANA, particularly within the Order-to-Cash process area.
• Experience with end-to-end Order-to-Delivery processes in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of sales, delivery, export, and invoicing processes.
• Experience producing process documentation and using BPMN-based process modelling tools.
• Experience contributing to ERP implementation projects and global ERP target architectures.

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate has a university degree, preferably in Computer Science or a related discipline, and at least 8 years of documented relevant experience. This includes Business Architecture and SAP S/4HANA Order-to-Cash experience. Significant experience as a Business Architect within complex international organisations is required.

Experience from the automotive industry, work with complex or highly configurable products, and participation in multiple ERP implementation projects are advantageous. The consultant should be pragmatic and results-oriented, with the ability to build alignment among diverse stakeholders while balancing business needs, architectural principles, and delivery realities.
