Job Overview
Role Summary
We are looking for a Certification Engineer to support certification activities and help ensure product compliance for the Chinese market. The assignment involves close collaboration with the certification team in China, the local distributor, and an international network of certification engineers, designers, test engineers, and other relevant stakeholders. The role focuses on supporting the registration and type approval of customer vehicles for the Chinese market.
Key Responsibilities
- Support certification activities for customer vehicles intended for the Chinese market.
- Coordinate with the certification team in China and the local distributor regarding registration and national type approval activities.
- Perform and support regulatory analysis relevant to vehicle certification and market approval.
- Collect, coordinate, and maintain technical documentation, product data, and engineering drawings required for certification submissions.
- Contribute to the planning and coordination of certification inspections and tests.
- Provide product information and technical details required by the Chinese market for national type approvals.
- Support troubleshooting of systems used in certification activities.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of certification processes and cross-functional ways of working.
Technical Stack & Requirements
- Experience working with vehicle certification, registration, type approval, product compliance, or related engineering activities.
- Ability to interpret and coordinate technical product information, engineering data, and technical drawings.
- Experience supporting activities governed by regulatory requirements and compliance obligations.
- Ability to coordinate technical information and activities across engineering, testing, certification, and commercial stakeholders.
- Experience working with systems and documentation used to support certification processes is advantageous.
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate has relevant experience in certification, type approval, regulatory compliance, engineering, or a related technical field. You are comfortable handling technical documentation and data, working with regulatory requirements, and coordinating multiple activities in a structured manner. Experience in an international, multicultural, and cross-functional environment is important. The role requires the ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, share knowledge openly, and collaborate with stakeholders across functions and organizational levels. Fluent written and spoken English is required.
