Data Engineer

Role Summary

Our client is seeking a Data Engineer for a consulting assignment within Analytics Products, focused on developing next-generation analytics and AI solutions for users in a data-driven organization. You will join a cross-functional product team operating at the intersection of data, analytics, and product development. The team includes Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, Data Analysts, a Product Manager, and UX specialists, working together to create modern analytics products that make advanced data more accessible and useful in daily operations.

The role spans the full journey from data and analysis to finished products. You will help identify and understand user needs, model and make data available for analytics, develop data pipelines and APIs, and build user-friendly interfaces in modern web applications. The assignment also includes developing AI-driven functionality that helps users explore and understand their data, as well as visualizing and communicating insights in a clear, value-creating way.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a cross-functional product team to develop analytics products and AI-enabled data solutions.
• Identify user needs and translate them into data-driven product capabilities.
• Model, prepare, and make data available for analytical use cases.
• Develop and maintain data flows, pipelines, and APIs.
• Work with large datasets and modern analytics technologies.
• Build user-friendly interfaces for data and analytics products using modern web technologies.
• Develop AI- and LLM-based features that enable users to explore, interpret, and understand data.
• Visualize and communicate insights clearly to support improved decision-making.
• Contribute across technical implementation, business understanding, and user experience.

Technical Stack & Requirements

• Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery.
• SQL and data processing for large datasets.
• Data modeling and analytics.
• JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
• Vue, React, or comparable frontend frameworks.
• Tableau, Looker, or similar data visualization tools.
• Git and modern development workflows.
• AI and Large Language Model (LLM) solutions.
• API development.
• Python is advantageous.

Qualifications & Experience

You have at least 3 years of experience in data, analytics, or product development. You have hands-on experience with SQL, large datasets, GCP, BigQuery, data modeling, and analytics. Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau or Looker, Git-based development workflows, and JavaScript or TypeScript is required. You should also have experience with Vue, React, or a similar frontend framework.

Experience with Python, AI- or LLM-based solutions, API development, and retail or e-commerce environments is advantageous. The ideal consultant is comfortable moving between technology, business needs, and user experience, with a strong interest in understanding how users work and creating data-driven products that deliver practical value.
