Job Overview
Role Summary
An experienced Cloud/DevOps Engineer is needed to join a DevOps and Cloud team working closely with development teams to build and evolve a robust platform for fast, secure, and reliable software delivery. The assignment focuses on continuously improving tooling, infrastructure, and engineering practices while strengthening an existing platform for reliability, scalability, maintainability, and secure production operations.
You will share responsibility for a DevOps platform supporting a fully cloud-based application based on containerized microservices. The platform operates on Kubernetes, uses GitLab CI/CD pipelines, and is managed through Infrastructure as Code primarily in AWS.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the DevOps platform used by development teams to build, deploy, and operate software in production.
- Work with cloud infrastructure, container orchestration, CI/CD, observability, security, and developer-experience initiatives.
- Build and improve automation that enables secure, efficient, and reliable software delivery.
- Manage infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code and support the evolution of cloud-native platform capabilities.
- Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines, GitOps-based delivery workflows, and deployment tooling.
- Contribute to monitoring, logging, tracing, telemetry collection, and platform reliability practices.
- Collaborate with development teams to remove delivery friction and improve the safety of production operations.
- Participate in knowledge sharing and joint technical decision-making, while taking ownership of assigned responsibilities and continuous learning.
Technical Stack & Requirements
- Cloud platform: AWS.
- Containers and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
- Infrastructure as Code: Pulumi.
- CI/CD and continuous delivery: GitLab CI, GitOps, and Flux.
- Identity and access management: Azure Entra ID (Azure AD), Keycloak, authorization, and access control.
- Observability: Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, Grafana Alloy, and Fluent Bit.
- Legacy or transitional observability tooling: Elasticsearch and Kibana.
- Automation and scripting: Python and Bash.
- AI-assisted tooling: Claude and ChatGPT.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience as a Cloud/DevOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer, Platform Engineer, System Administrator, Backend Developer, or in a comparable technical role is required. Candidates should be comfortable with modern DevOps and cloud-native practices, including automation, scripting, cloud infrastructure, version control, Infrastructure as Code, container platforms, and CI/CD pipelines. The role requires a pragmatic approach to balancing delivery speed, platform stability, and security, together with a strong interest in continuous improvement and collaborative engineering.
