Documentation Engineer (Food & Pharma)

Role Summary

An experienced Documentation Engineer is needed for a long-term consulting assignment focused on technical documentation within the food and pharmaceutical industries. The role is responsible for producing, structuring, maintaining, and delivering high-quality technical documentation packages that meet applicable industry requirements, including GMP and Good Documentation Practice principles.

You will work closely with technical teams, project organizations, production facilities, and customers to ensure documentation requirements, ownership, and deliveries are clear, complete, and managed through a structured process.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, structure, review, maintain, and deliver complete technical documentation packages.
• Ensure documentation is accurate, complete, traceable, and delivered correctly to customers.
• Collect, coordinate, and follow up documentation from internal and external stakeholders.
• Clarify documentation requirements, responsibilities, milestones, and delivery expectations across project stakeholders.
• Support a consistent and well-governed documentation process throughout the assignment lifecycle.
• Distribute and organize completed documentation in electronic document management systems, including Pims or Aida.
• Identify, investigate, and help resolve documentation gaps, discrepancies, and deviations.
• Handle sensitive information securely throughout documentation creation, storage, sharing, and distribution.

Technical Stack & Requirements

• Experience with electronic document management systems, such as Pims, Aida, or equivalent platforms.
• Knowledge of documentation standards and quality requirements within the food and pharmaceutical industries.
• Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Documentation Practice requirements.
• Understanding of equipment design, manufacturing processes, and operational workflows in food or pharmaceutical environments.
• Knowledge of secure handling, storage, and sharing of sensitive documentation and information.

Qualifications & Experience

You have experience working with technical documentation in regulated food and/or pharmaceutical environments and understand the documentation standards applicable to these industries. Experience using Pims, Aida, or comparable electronic document management systems is required. You are detail-oriented, able to prioritize effectively, and comfortable managing deadlines in a collaborative project environment. Professional spoken and written English is required. Experience identifying and correcting documentation gaps or deviations, as well as a strong customer and stakeholder focus, is advantageous.
