Function Architect – Automotive Embedded Systems & Vehicle Software - 20157

Assignment Description

We are seeking an experienced Function Architect for an automotive assignment in Södertälje, Sweden.

What You Will Work On

• Support vehicle software and functional changes from initial concept through to agreed system solutions.
• Collaborate with internal customers, system owners, architects, and impacted stakeholders.
• Facilitate workshops and discussions to identify changes, dependencies, system impacts, and affected functions.
• Define and document system concepts, architectural principles, interfaces, messages, and functional behaviour.
• Communicate complex technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Document approved solutions and architectural decisions using the relevant architecture toolchain.
• Support system-level decisions by evaluating impacts, dependencies, and trade-offs across the vehicle platform.
• Promote flow-oriented development and effective collaboration across teams.

What You Bring

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Solid experience in function development, system development, or system ownership within embedded systems and/or automotive environments.
• Good understanding of vehicle architectures, system platforms, and interconnected system dependencies.
• Experience with system requirements, functional decomposition, and system concepts.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.

Meritorious

• Previous experience working with the client.
• Experience as a Function Architect, System Architect, or in a similar cross-functional architecture role.
• Knowledge of automotive communication technologies such as CAN and Ethernet.
• Experience with Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, or agile embedded software development.
• Experience with Software Defined Vehicles (SDV), autonomous vehicles, or advanced vehicle control systems.
• Familiarity with architecture toolchains and model-based development methods.
