Assignment Description

We are looking for a Senior Integration Specialist / Platform Engineer to build, operate and continuously improve enterprise integration platforms.

The role focuses on Apache Kafka, Strimzi, HiveMQ, Kubernetes/AKS, automation, security, observability and platform operations. You will take end-to-end ownership of the messaging platform, ensuring stability, scalability, security and reliable operation.

What You Will Work On

• Design and maintain multi-cluster, multi-region Apache Kafka environments
• Manage Kafka using Strimzi on Kubernetes
• Administer enterprise HiveMQ MQTT brokers
• Manage Kafka, Strimzi and HiveMQ upgrades and patching
• Develop and maintain custom Kafka Connectors
• Optimize Kafka partitions, topics, retention, storage and resources
• Design HA, disaster recovery and cross-region replication
• Manage Schema Registry using Avro, Protobuf and JSON Schema
• Implement Kafka ACLs, SASL, RBAC, mTLS and OAuth/OIDC
• Build observability using Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk and Fluent Bit
• Perform RCA and Tier 3 support for complex platform issues
• Build reusable CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions / Jenkins
• Use Helm and Terraform for infrastructure management
• Implement KEDA-based autoscaling
• Build developer self-service tooling for topics, schemas and credentials
• Support Java/Spring Boot teams with Kafka best practices
• Handle incident, problem and change management
• Collaborate with Security, Architecture and development teams

What You Bring

• 4–6 years of experience with Apache Kafka, Strimzi, Kafka Connect and KRaft
• 4–6 years of Java and Spring Boot
• Strong experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
• Experience with PostgreSQL
• Strong Linux experience
• Experience with GitHub Actions and ArgoCD
• Knowledge of Splunk, Fluent Bit and Helm
• CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions and/or Jenkins
• Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform or equivalent
• Strong Kafka platform knowledge covering clusters, performance and security
• Experience with HiveMQ
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Comfortable with operational responsibility
• Fluent English, written and spoken
