Role Summary
An experienced Lead Manufacturing Tooling & Equipment Engineer is needed for a consulting assignment focused on the design, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment and production tooling. The role spans the full equipment lifecycle, from evaluating technical solutions and developing concepts through installation, operational support, and maintenance. The assignment has a strong focus on improving equipment utilization, uptime, and production yield.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and improve manufacturing equipment, tooling, and related production solutions.
- Develop technical solutions for machinery, fixtures, jigs, gauges, and other production equipment.
- Evaluate equipment concepts and select appropriate solutions based on manufacturing needs, performance, and maintainability.
- Manage large-scale engineering projects and end-to-end equipment implementation processes independently.
- Support installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance activities for new and existing equipment.
- Identify and resolve complex technical issues affecting equipment performance, availability, utilization, and production yield.
- Provide technical coaching and guidance to other engineering and production professionals.
- Support and train production and technology transfer teams in the introduction of new equipment and manufacturing processes.
Technical Stack & Requirements
- Manufacturing equipment design and engineering.

- Production machinery and equipment lifecycle management.
- Equipment installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance.

Qualifications & Experience
Typically 8+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing tooling, production equipment engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. The successful consultant should be able to work independently on complex technical challenges, lead substantial engineering initiatives, and provide technical mentorship to colleagues. Experience supporting production organizations and technology transfer activities is advantageous.
