Job Overview

Role Summary

An experienced Platform Technical Lead is required for a full-time consulting assignment within a large organisation operating a complex IT environment with international stakeholders. The role carries overarching technical and advisory responsibility for the platform domain, ensuring that platforms and infrastructure services are developed, maintained and modernised in a secure, stable, cost-effective and sustainable manner.

The assignment covers strategic, tactical and technical matters related to server infrastructure, storage, backup, cloud platforms and hybrid environments. The consultant will provide a consolidated platform perspective, analyse technical dependencies and risks, and deliver well-founded recommendations to support technology decisions, investments and major changes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the overarching technical advisor for server, storage, backup, cloud and platform environments.
  • Review Change Requests and assess technical risks, business impact, dependencies, implementation feasibility and recoverability.
  • Ensure that decision material for changes is sufficiently complete and that identified risks, dependencies and consequences are clearly documented.
  • Identify and address trade-offs between stability, security, cost efficiency and the pace of change from an end-to-end platform perspective.
  • Identify technical risks, technical debt and improvement opportunities, and provide recommendations to accountable stakeholders.
  • Participate as a technical advisor in CAB, Global CAB and other relevant decision-making and collaboration forums.
  • Collaborate with ITSM and accountable functions on lifecycle management while respecting established operational process ownership.
  • Prepare technical recommendations and decision support for investments, major changes and strategic technology choices.
  • Represent the Swedish organisation with an advisory technical mandate in relevant global forums and initiatives.
  • Challenge technical change proposals and recommend conditions, postponement or escalation when risk assessments, consequences or decision material are inadequate.
  • Work closely with architects, service owners, security functions, suppliers and global platform teams.

Technical Stack & Requirements

  • Strong background in platform operations, infrastructure or technical specialist roles.
  • Hands-on and advisory experience with server infrastructure, storage solutions, backup platforms and virtualisation platforms.
  • Experience with public cloud platforms, hybrid cloud environments and platform modernisation.
  • Experience in technology lifecycle management and technical roadmap planning.
  • Ability to evaluate technical dependencies, operational resilience, recovery capabilities and the consequences of proposed changes.
  • Experience with supplier governance, requirements definition, cost optimisation and financial follow-up.
  • Relevant infrastructure or cloud technology certifications are advantageous.

Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate has several years of experience in infrastructure, platform operations or a technical specialist capacity. Experience from transformation initiatives, platform modernisation and international or global organisations is highly valued. The consultant must be able to analyse complex technical issues and risks and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations for both technical specialists and business stakeholders. Professional proficiency in both Swedish and English is required.
