Assignment Description

We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer / AI Platform Engineer

What You Will Work On

• Build and operate services and integrations for the CodeE platform
• Develop reusable building blocks for engineering teams across Volvo
• Integrate internal engineering systems, APIs and services
• Turn engineering standards and guidelines into practical platform capabilities
• Design stable interfaces, APIs and clear service contracts
• Build telemetry and evaluation tooling for platform quality
• Develop self-service onboarding, documentation and reference implementations
• Establish sensible defaults and developer guardrails
• Work directly with consuming engineering teams to understand their workflows
• Collaborate with UX designers to improve developer experience
• Own solutions from design and development through production and operations
• Ensure reliability, security and continuous improvement
• Support AI-assisted software development and GitHub Copilot-based solutions

What You Bring

• Minimum 10 years of experience in software engineering or a similar technical role
• Strong experience with TypeScript and Shell
• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure
• Strong experience with APIs and integrations
• Experience with CI/CD
• Experience building and operating production services
• Good understanding of software architecture, interfaces and service contracts
• Strong focus on reliability, security and operational ownership
• Experience working with engineering teams and technical stakeholders
• Strong interest in developer experience and self-service tooling
• Daily practical experience with AI coding tools
• Ability to work pragmatically in a fast-moving technology environment
• Professional fluency in English, written and spoken
