Job Overview
Role Summary
An experienced SAP Project Manager is needed to take a key leadership role during the go-live phase of a large, complex transformation programme. The consultant will hold overall accountability for go-live readiness and successful delivery within an assigned workstream or major work area.
The role focuses on ensuring that go-live activities are coordinated with business and IT stakeholders, critical dependencies and decisions are managed, and the workstream achieves the required readiness level before each Go / No-Go decision.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the go-live outcome and readiness for a designated SAP transformation workstream or major work area.
- Provide strategic direction, priorities and governance for workstream go-live activities.
- Approve the overall go-live commitment, including scope, delivery plan and milestones.
- Ensure alignment between the workstream, line organisation, business owners, IT stakeholders and related initiatives.
- Identify, manage and resolve cross-functional dependencies, decisions, risks and blockers affecting delivery.
- Act as an escalation point for issues that may impact workstream readiness or go-live delivery.
- Review and provide readiness sign-off for the workstream ahead of Go / No-Go decisions.
- Contribute to overall Go / No-Go decision-making and programme-level go-live governance.
- Work closely with the operational go-live lead, who manages day-to-day delivery activities, while retaining accountability for alignment, readiness and sign-off.
Technical Stack & Requirements
- SAP programme or transformation delivery experience.
- Project management of large-scale, complex IT and business transformation initiatives.
- Go-live planning, readiness assessment, milestone management and delivery governance.
- Risk, issue, dependency and escalation management across business and IT workstreams.
- Stakeholder management involving line organisations, business owners and technology teams.
Qualifications & Experience
Senior-level experience managing SAP projects or major workstreams within complex transformation programmes is required. The successful consultant should have a proven ability to take accountability for critical delivery phases, coordinate multiple stakeholders, manage dependencies and provide clear decision support in high-impact go-live environments.
