Role Summary
An experienced Senior Embedded Firmware Developer is needed for a long-term consulting assignment with a technology-intensive client in Lund. The role is product-focused and involves both continued development of an established firmware platform and implementation of new functionality. The development team works with an established Linux-based software platform and contributes to a range of product and development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop robust embedded Linux software supporting product-facing functionality.
- Take responsibility across the development lifecycle, from technical design and implementation through debugging, optimisation, integration, and quality assurance.
- Develop firmware primarily using C and C++.
- Investigate and resolve advanced firmware issues with a strong focus on stability, reliability, and performance.
- Address complex technical challenges related to real-time control, motion systems, and video functionality.
- Contribute to the continued evolution of existing firmware as well as the development of new product capabilities.
Technical Stack & Requirements
- Embedded Linux development.
- C and C++ programming.
- Firmware development, debugging, optimisation, and integration.
- Real-time systems and control-related software.
- Software architecture and code architecture experience are advantageous.
- Experience working with motion systems and video functionality is relevant.
Qualifications & Experience
Strong senior-level experience in product-near embedded firmware development is required. The successful consultant should be comfortable working independently across the full engineering lifecycle and solving complex technical problems in a Linux-based embedded environment. A demonstrated interest in, or experience with, software and code architecture is particularly advantageous.
