Role Summary
An experienced Mechanical Design Engineer is needed for a consulting assignment with a technology-intensive product company in the Gothenburg region. The assignment focuses on mechanical product development throughout the complete development lifecycle, from early ideas and concepts through prototyping, verification, industrialisation, and finished product delivery.
The role is suited to a hands-on engineer who enjoys working close to development activities, combining mechanical design with practical testing, prototype development, manufacturing preparation, and production collaboration. You will join an experienced cross-functional development team and work closely with electronics, test, and verification functions, as well as suppliers and manufacturing organisations.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive mechanical product development from idea and concept through to completed product.
- Take ownership of assigned mechanical design areas across the product development cycle.
- Design and develop detailed mechanical components and assemblies.
- Develop plastic and aluminium components intended for tool-based manufacturing.
- Produce and evaluate prototypes as part of the development process.
- Perform practical testing and support verification activities for mechanical designs.
- Collaborate closely with electronics, test, verification, supplier, and manufacturing stakeholders.
- Contribute to industrialisation activities and the transition from development to production.

Experience of practical, development-near engineering work and collaboration in cross-functional product development teams is important. Experience working with suppliers and manufacturing organisations is also relevant.
