Assignment Description

We are looking for a Senior Safety Project Manager / Functional Safety Lead with extensive experience in safety management, regulatory compliance, and risk management for a strategic assignment within autonomous solutions.

The customer is a leading technology and industrial company developing advanced solutions within future transportation and automation. The organization operates in a highly regulated environment with strong focus on safety, innovation, and collaboration between engineering teams, business functions, partners, and regulatory stakeholders.

In this role, you will act as a safety authority responsible for safety governance, Safety Case ownership, risk assessment, and decision-making related to deployment and operational readiness of safety-critical solutions.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience within functional safety, operational safety, compliance, and safety-critical systems, preferably from the automotive or industrial domain.

What You Will Work On

• Own and manage Safety Cases and safety assurance activities
• Make safety-related go/no-go decisions before deployment of solutions
• Define, develop, and maintain safety processes, governance models, and frameworks
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and internal requirements
• Perform and support risk assessments and operational safety reviews
• Coordinate safety activities between engineering teams, business functions, suppliers, and external partners
• Support incident investigations and drive corrective improvement actions
• Act as the primary safety contact towards internal and external regulatory stakeholders
• Coordinate safety responsibilities across multiple organizations and teams
• Support development of a strong safety culture and continuous improvement initiatives
• Provide guidance and expertise in safety-critical decision-making processes

What You Bring

• Master’s degree / Civil Engineering degree or equivalent within a relevant technical field
• 10+ years of professional experience within:Functional safety
• Operational safety
• Regulatory compliance
• Risk management

Proven experience with Safety Case methodology and Safety Case management

Strong knowledge of safety standards and frameworks, including:

• ISO 26262
• ISO 21448 (SOTIF)
• Incident reporting and safety management processes

Strong analytical skills with experience in:

• Risk assessment
• Hazard analysis
• Safety evaluation
• Risk mitigation strategies

Experience working in safety-critical and regulated environments

Ability to make objective decisions in complex technical situations

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

Ability to influence and align different technical and business stakeholders

Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken
