Assignment Description

We are looking for a Senior Test Developer to join an agile Scrum team developing new functionality for embedded software within the automotive industry.

The role combines hands-on Python development, test automation and requirements engineering. You will contribute to the testing perspective throughout the development lifecycle, from breaking down requirements to developing and executing automated tests.

You will work closely with software developers and other team members to ensure high test coverage, quality and reliability of new functionality.

What You Will Work On

• Break down requirements into clear and testable requirements
• Support creation and refinement of requirements in Jama
• Contribute the testing perspective during refinement and development
• Develop automated tests using Python
• Implement tests and supporting functionality within an established test framework
• Ensure appropriate test coverage for new functionality
• Analyze test results and troubleshoot test failures
• Collaborate closely with software developers and Scrum team members
• Participate in requirements and technical discussions
• Apply strong testing and quality practices throughout development
• Take technical ownership of test automation activities

What You Bring

• Senior-level experience in software development and/or test automation
• Strong hands-on development experience with Python
• Experience developing automated tests and test frameworks
• Strong understanding of software testing principles
• Good software engineering practices, including Git, code reviews and maintainable code
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and take technical ownership
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Experience working in agile development environments

Meritorious

• Experience testing embedded systems
• Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) environments
• Experience with pytest or similar test frameworks
• Experience with CI/CD and automated test execution in pipelines
• Knowledge of communication protocols and interfaces used in embedded systems
• Experience with Jira and/or Jama
• Experience working with Agile/Scrum teams
• Experience with requirements engineering
• Experience within automotive or other embedded technology environments
