Job Overview
Role Summary
An experienced Test Automation Engineer is sought for a consulting assignment in an agile development environment focused on the integration, validation, and automated testing of solutions within a Data Warehouse and Data Lake environment. The role is central to assuring the quality of both new and existing data flows, integrations, and data models.
You will work operationally and tactically to increase the team’s level of test automation, acting as a test specialist and advocate for automated testing across multiple test levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Integrate and validate new data sources and ensure the quality of new and existing data flows.
- Validate data models in a Data Vault environment and support data modelling activities.
- Review business requirements and technical specifications from a testability and quality-assurance perspective.
- Create, manage, and maintain test data, including mocks and generated test datasets.
- Design, implement, and maintain automated technical and regression tests.
- Automate the reporting and communication of test results.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of test practices and automation maturity within the agile team.
Technical Stack & Requirements
- Strong practical experience with Oracle, SQL, and Python.
- Experience testing data-intensive solutions in Data Warehouse and Data Lake environments.
- Experience with data modelling, preferably using Data Vault.
- Hands-on experience with automated testing, regression testing, and technical testing.
- Experience using Git for version control of codebases and test scripts.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of test-data generation and mock creation.
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate has documented experience in test automation for Data Warehouse and Data Lake platforms, including validation of data integrations and data flows. You should be comfortable working in agile teams and able to combine hands-on delivery with tactical improvement of automation practices. Experience contributing to a learning-oriented engineering culture is beneficial.
