Job Overview
Role Summary
An experienced Test Developer is needed to support software testing for advanced powertrain solutions. The assignment covers validation of new software functionality throughout the development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and test design through to execution in Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and bench-based test environments. You will collaborate closely with function developers and technical stakeholders to ensure reliable system behaviour and high software quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse software and system requirements and translate them into effective test cases and test scripts.
- Develop, execute, and maintain low-level software tests for new powertrain functionality.
- Perform testing in HIL and bench-based environments.
- Plan, coordinate, and follow up personal test activities within agile sprint cycles.
- Collaborate closely with function developers to investigate issues, verify functionality, and improve software quality.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of test methods, processes, and automation capabilities.
- Work as part of a cross-functional agile development and test organisation operating according to the SAFe framework.
Technical Stack & Requirements
- Software testing and test development, including requirements-based test design.
- Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing and bench-based test environments.
- Test case development, test scripting, and low-level software testing.
- Agile ways of working, including sprint planning and coordination, within a SAFe environment.
- Python is advantageous, particularly for test automation and Python-based test frameworks.
- Knowledge of embedded systems and vehicle electrical systems is advantageous.
- Strong coding skills are beneficial.
Qualifications & Experience
You hold a Master's degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a comparable relevant discipline. Experience in software testing and/or test development is required, along with the ability to interpret requirements and create test cases and scripts. Knowledge of HIL and bench-based software testing is expected. Experience with embedded vehicle systems, vehicle electrical systems, and functional safety standards such as ISO 26262 is advantageous. A C and/or CE driving licence is also considered beneficial.
