Job Overview
Role Summary
An experienced Transformation Lead is needed to lead and accelerate the transition towards a more agentic and AI-driven way of working across the software development lifecycle. The assignment focuses on turning strategic ambitions into practical, scalable ways of working in which AI agents and generative AI are integrated from requirements and design through development, testing, documentation, and maintenance.
This is a change-focused role responsible for moving development organisations from traditional delivery models to a modern, shared approach to AI-driven engineering. The consultant will establish the principles, methods, governance, and organisational conditions required for broad adoption of new development practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the transformation towards AI-driven and agentic software development practices across the organisation.
- Translate target-state strategies into concrete activities, operating models, measurable outcomes, and sustainable behavioural changes.
- Develop common principles, methods, and governance for AI-driven development.
- Support managers, product owners, and development teams throughout the change journey and help embed new practices in day-to-day delivery.
- Coordinate a competence centre for product owners and create structures for knowledge sharing, common ways of working, and close collaboration between business and technology teams.
- Identify and realise efficiency and quality improvements enabled by generative AI and AI agents.
- Define relevant KPIs and establish follow-up mechanisms for the transformation.
- Ensure that new ways of working meet organisational requirements for information security, governance, cost control, and compliance.
- Collaborate with executive stakeholders and engineering teams, including leading change without formal authority.
Technical Stack & Requirements
- Strong knowledge of modern software delivery methods, including Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and Platform Engineering.
- Practical, regular use of AI development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, and GitHub Copilot.
- Experience introducing and scaling Generative AI, AI coding assistants, and agentic coding practices within development organisations.
- Good understanding of software architecture, development platforms, and modern development tools.
- Experience establishing AI governance and Responsible AI practices is advantageous.
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate has experience in digital development, technology leadership, or business transformation, including leading major change initiatives in software development and technical organisations. Experience in change management, coaching, and capability development in larger organisations is required. The role requires the ability to convert strategy into practical implementation and measurable results. Experience from retail, e-commerce, or other complex customer-facing organisations is advantageous.
